This policy explains what personal data A-VOX Vocal & Piano Studio (“A-VOX,” “we,” “us”) collects when you visit a-vox.co.uk, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
A-VOX Vocal & Piano Studio is a private music tuition studio based at 21 Page’s Walk, Bermondsey, London SE1 4SB. We are the data controller for information collected via this website.
Contact: avox.studio.london@gmail.com
2. What data we collect
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the studio. Specifically:
2.1 Information you give us directly
- Contact form submissions: your name, email address, phone number (optional), and the message you send us.
- Email or phone enquiries: any information you choose to share when contacting us at avox.studio.london@gmail.com or by phone.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Analytics data: if you accept cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects anonymised information about your visit (device type, browser, pages viewed, referring source, approximate location at city level). This data is processed by Google and we only see it in aggregate form.
- No advertising or remarketing: we do not run advertising, retargeting, or profiling on our website. Consent Mode v2 is configured so that ad-related storage is always denied, regardless of your cookie choice.
3. How we use your data
We only use the data you provide for the following purposes:
- To reply to enquiries and arrange lessons.
- To send lesson-related information (times, materials, invoices) to existing students.
- To understand aggregate site traffic and improve the website (analytics data only, if consented).
We do not use your data for marketing, we do not sell or share it with third parties for commercial purposes, and we do not build profiles about you.
4. Legal basis for processing
- Contact form and enquiries: legitimate interest (responding to your request) and, where applicable, contractual necessity (arranging lessons).
- Analytics cookies: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer.
5. Third-party services we use
The website uses the following third-party services. Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics 4 & Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Ltd) — anonymised traffic analytics. Only loads after you accept cookies. Google’s privacy policy.
- Featurable — embed widget that shows our public Google reviews. Featurable’s privacy policy.
- Hostinger — hosting provider. Server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL) are kept briefly for security and diagnostics.
6. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies. Full details, including cookie names and durations, are in our Cookie Policy. You control cookie consent via the banner shown on your first visit or the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer.
7. How long we keep data
- Contact form / enquiry emails: retained while relevant to the enquiry, then deleted (typically within 12 months).
- Active student records: retained while lessons are ongoing and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and follow-up.
- Analytics data: stored by Google according to the retention setting configured in Google Analytics 4 (currently 14 months), then automatically deleted.
- Server logs: automatically rotated by the hosting provider.
8. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
